Looking Ahead: ICCE Strategic Planning Session Kicks Off

On August 31st – September 3rd, the Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects board and staff gathered at Tigh-na-mara Seaside Spa Resort & Conference Centre, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Snaw-naw-as (Nanoose) First Nation for work planning, strategic planning and governance meetings focused on the organization’s direction for the years ahead.

The week began with the centre’s staff coming together for an in-person meeting, work planning review and team building activities aimed at aligning on organizational priorities. A two-day strategic planning session followed, with board and staff coming together to think through the Centre’s direction, priorities and shared goals. Facilitated by BoardBe, board and staff engaged in meaningful discussions and thoughtful dialogue on the direction of the organization.

Prior to the in-person meeting, community input was gathered in consultation with partners the centre has worked with over the years, insuring priorities reflect the organizations mission to create networks, develop and share knowledge to empower community-based approaches to culturally relevant cumulative effects work.

On the last day, the board met for the organizations Annual General Meeting, approving the 2025-2026 Annual Report, and moving to name Melanie Daniel’s as Board Chairperson, ICCE Youth Director Sophie Collins as Board Vice Chair and Earl Belcourt as Treasurer.

Stay tuned for the launch of the organizations new Strategic Plan.

ICCE Board & Staff gather for a photo in their orange shirts, in recognition of truth and reconciliation month.
