Mik’ma’ki NSMichelle Francis-Denny comes from Pictou Landing First Nation, a small Mi’kmaw community located along the Northumberland Strait in Mik’ma’ki (Nova Scotia). Michelle’s background consists of more than twenty years working within her own community in areas of employment, training, community development, as well as being the former point-of-contact as the Liaison Manager for the high-profile Boat Harbour Remediation Project.
Michelle’s lived, personal and professional experience brings passionate perspectives to all spaces she is invited to in both private and public sectors. She holds an MBA in Indigenous Business Leadership and prides herself on taking unique approaches to building awareness on Indigenous world view and developing meaningful relationships. Michelle’s career focus is guided by the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions call to action #92 – Economic Reconciliation and Environmental responsibilities.
