The Confederacy of Mainland Mik’maq (CMM) is a tribal organization that provides services and programs to member communities. Their project on cumulative effects management has engaged Indigenous communities, and involves all types of knowledge, Indigenous, local, and science. They have conducted needs assessments and opportunities for engagement to determine cumulative effects impacts on their way of life, lands and resources and to find solutions to manage CE by connecting community to each other, by creating learning opportunities, and by allowing community to take control of the science behind monitoring/assessment.
