Community Funding Program (CFP)

What is the CFP?

The CFP funds Indigenous community-led projects to help build and enhance the capacity for cumulative effects assessment, monitoring and management in First Nations, Metis and Inuit territories, using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach. Program Eligibility
  • Indigenous-led (First Nations, Metis and Inuit) organizations or communities 
  • Any other Indigenous organizations working on cumulative effects

Eligible applicants may partner with other Indigenous communities and with external partners, such as: 

  • Federal, provincial, territorial, or regional governments
  • Non-governmental and non-for-profit organizations
  • Academic and research institutions
  • Indigenous and non-Indigenous consulting groups

Eligible Projects

Two streams of funding are available to eligible applicants:

STREAM 1
Developing Capacity

 

Aimed to support hiring or training of in-house resources to develop community-led knowledge and plans connected to cumulative effects from an Indigenous perspective.

STREAM 2
Enhancing Capacity

 

Designed to advance regional relationships in cumulative effects promoting collaboration, inter-community engagement, and intergenerational knowledge sharing.

Learn how cumulative effects are defined by ICCE, the types of projects and expenses that qualify, and receive step-by-step guidance on how to apply for CFP funding. The Indigenous Centre for Cumulative Effects will be hosting three live sessions for interested applicants of the Community Funding Program:

  • Thursday, May 16, 2024 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM EST (English)
  • Thursday, May 30, 2024 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM EST (English)
  • Thursday, June 6, 2024 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM EST (French)

How to Apply

To apply for the Community Funding Program, please follow the application process outlined below:

1. Review

 

Read the CFP funding guidelines document and register for one of the CFP information sessions.

2. Prepare

 

Select a stream of funding, and seek letter(s) of support from community leaders or department head.

3. Apply

 

Create an online profile on the ICCE community portal, get connected to your community, and begin your CFP application.
