Monitoring the health of the waters by studying clams within the Clearwater Rivers and Athabaska River. Indigenous community members work with scientists to collect data. Shifting to a Cumulative Environmental and Cultural Effects model to describe historic, current and future state of clams and clam beds, and uses community based monitoring initiatives, and supports participation in regulatory processes and policy development.
